Keyla Childs

Keyla Starr Childs is a Charleston, South Carolina native.  She was born on February 20, 1994 and is the daughter of Kenneth and Debbie Childs.

Keyla is a junior at Summerville High School.  Where she enjoys cheering on the Green Waves football and baseball teams. Keyla has volunteered since the ninth grade with Dorchester County EMS, learning how to help others in case of an emergency.  She spends most of her weekends volunteering with Make a Wish Foundation, MUSC Children’s Hospital, Girl Scouts of America, St. Jude Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Relay For Life, just to name a few.  She has a deep love for animals, having three horses and four dogs. Keyla would love to have a rescue center to help all types of animals. 

Keyla plans are to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia where she will earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Then she would love to attend the University of Georgia where she plans to receive a degree in Veterinary Medicine. 

As Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2011, Keyla looks forward to the opportunity to meet and make a difference in the lives of young girls everywhere. She is very excited about her adventure to volunteer all over our beautiful state of South Carolina.
